Virgínia and Nico are friends and founding partners of Book Menorca Villas, the tourist rental agency that manages this magnificent villa. Virgínia is an interior designer from Menorca, and Nico is a photographer from Germany. Ten years ago Virgínia started a project that would eventually join their professional trajectories in hopes of providing comprehensive management of rental homes to individuals with properties on the island. They now, however, take it a step further, helping to make the dwellings they manage both efficient and low impact homes.

Villa Paraíso was this project’s first home. Located in the Sant Tomàs residential area, this villa is ideal for families or groups of friends, with solar thermal panels to heat water for domestic use and the swimming pool; with a natural heating and cooling system that takes advantage of the island’s prevalent north-south winds to create cross-ventilation; or a rainwater cistern for use in cleaning and watering. The house has been refurbished with local materials and in accordance with a sustainable and efficient energy model, both for lighting and waste management.
