ARTIEM Carlos, overlooking the port of Cales Fonts, is the third hotel of the ARTIEM hotel chain, a chain with headquarters in Menorca created more than 40 years ago. Its values and its clear bet on sustainability have brought the company many certifications related with environmental management at international scale.

Guiem Sintes, director of Quality and Environment of the chain, explains that workings towards sustainability is not only a social responsibility, it also makes the chain more competitive. Among their projects stands out the “ARTIEM Sustainability 8/80” that consists on reducing in 8 years the 80% of their CO2 emissions. ARTIEM is the first hotel chain in Europe and third in the world to obtain the BCorp certification for its high standards in social and environmental performance, transparency and corporate responsibility.

At ARTIEM Carlos, one of the most ambitious actions will be the installation of seawater desalination equipment in order to generate all the water necessary to cover the needs of the establishment. This way, ARTIEM works to become a leader with an innovative accommodation model based on the well-being of the people and the commitment with sustainable prosperity and a positive impact in the environment.
