“Sa Banqueta”, “Es Sabater”, “Sa Llumeta” and “Sa Caramuixa” are the names of the four rooms of this cosy hotel located at the oldtown of Es Migjorn Gran, words to pay homage to the island’s shoe industry and the artisanal trade of “bench shoemaker”, a profession linked to the owner family. From its name, s’Estil·let, to the design of the space, the shoemaking tradition of Menorca is seen when visiting the rooms of the hotel, an 1896 town house rehabilitated maintaining the traditional architecture and materials: the sandstone arches, original wooden beams and the hydraulic tyles are combined with the antique craft utensils and handcrafted furniture.
According with the tranquillity of the place where it is located, s’Estil·let has been designed for rest in a familiar atmosphere, with a pleasant terrace, a reading area and a cafeteria where 0km produce is the base of the menu. Its commitment to sustainability extends to not using plastic products and to renewable energy. The hotel is supplied by photovoltaic energy and produces heating, cooling and hot water through aerothermal energy.
“We were clear that the project had to be conceived in terms of sustainability. This and its family character, of a quiet small-town hotel, are the two things that define s’Estil·let.”
