MEET THE CENTRAL FIGURES

David Mascaró

Owner

Sports&Kayak Menorca is a multi-adventure company with locations in Cala Torret, Cala en Porter, Sant Tomàs and the port of Addaia; strategic locations from where they reveal the most iconic sites of the island’s northern and southern coasts. Founder David Mascaró is a physical education teacher and professional canoeist who dreamed to turn his passion into a way of life. So with nothing but a 4×4 and a trailer, he began to offer kayak excursions to discover Menorca by sea. Today, Sports&Kayak has a staff of 16 and their activities have expanded to include paddle surf, motor boats, sailboats and electric bikes.

The core concept of Sports&Kayak is that visitors to the island of Menorca should discover the island as it is seen by locals; enjoying its waters, beaches, trails and natural environment, always aware of, for example, the purpose and importance of protecting posidonia seagrass, how to protect dune systems and areas of geological interest, respect for the various routes or discovering protected natural areas.

The staff has been hand-picked to supervise and guide visitors during these sports activities in a safe and respectful manner, while conveying the culture, history and vision of the Menorca Biosphere Reserve.

“Visitors truly enjoy discovering the values and best practices of the Biosphere Reserve. Conveying such knowledge also helps to avoid negative impact in the sea.”
